Essex Biodiversity Project
www.essexbiodiversity.org.uk – which aims to protect conserve and enhance the variety of wildlife species and habitats in Essex. It has supported many projects in Uttlesford, for example to improve ponds and grasslands and to protect the Scarlet Malachite beetle. Its website is a mine of information.
Saffron Walden Museum

Bishops Stortford Natural History Society
http://bsnhs.webplus.net/ The Society continues the skills of recording and observation, combining them with practical conservation projects in the locality, and running a range of evening talks in the winter, and summer visits and outdoor activities.

Uttlesford Badger Group
www.ubg-uk.org – rescues and rehabilitates injured badgers and releases them back to the wild. Report any sightings of injured or dead badgers to them.

National Trust – the largest single site for wildlife in Uttlesford, and a rare survivor of an historic landscape.
